About
RouteOne is the football publication that respects your time and your intelligence. We cover the political, social, and economic forces in the football world. No fluff. No time-wasting. No agenda. Just sharp insight that leads you directly to the stuff you need to understand.
SUBSCRIBEFootball keeps expanding. More games. More news. More ways to keep up. To stay informed, the average fan now juggles four to six premium subscriptions. Content is spread across feeds and apps, or locked behind paywalls. The result is a strange kind of poverty. Fans are drowning in coverage but starved of clarity.
RouteOne brings the whole game back into focus. It’s the one place you need to get to grips with the most important stories from every league and continent. We get straight to the point and don’t let opinions muddy the facts. We provide a way to follow football that respects your intelligence and your time.
RouteOne founders. Tim and Tarik Salih grew up on football, but they lost touch with the game when busy careers took over. Lack of coverage wasn’t the problem. There was more of it than ever. The problem was the volume and quality of that coverage. The best writing was fragmented across different platforms or was simply lost in the noise. The brothers didn’t just want to keep up. They wanted to understand the game again. So, they built the thing they were missing. A clear, smart way to understand football without spending hours sifting through noise. A way to keep up with the global game without getting buried by it.
RouteOne was built by thinking fans, for thinking fans. We provide a rich, accurate view of the game that respects your time, and we created a set of principles to ensure we stay true to that goal. We think of this approach as our secret formula. The RouteOne secret sauce.
We scour thousands of sources and publications every day to pick out the stories that really matter. We sort the important from the loud and leave the rest.
Every league. Every continent. Men’s and women’s teams. We are committed to every part of the global game.
We don't favour any club, nation or league. We take no gambling or alcohol money, because we don’t believe you can claim to respect a reader’s time and intelligence while selling them a habit.
We answer to readers, not to advertisers or a parent company. Everything we write is for the fan. If it doesn't help and inform you, it doesn't make the cut.
We would rather be late than wrong. We don’t share stories until we know they’re 100% solid.
Two fans who wanted to think about football, not just follow the scores. They saw a gap they could not unsee and created RouteOne to fill it.
Our original newsletter started as a way of providing a solution we needed as fans. It grew from a small audience of friends and family into a subscriber base of many thousands, including some of the most influential people in the game.
To grow, we took on a small amount of outside funding from backers who believe in what we are building. Our investors back us because they believe in our vision, and they don’t exercise any editorial influence. We answer to our readers, and to our readers alone.
Over 90% of our revenue comes from subscribers, which is how we maintain our independence. In return, we give you access to premium weekend content, the comments section, insider info about the business and much more.
As a minority owner of three football clubs and a huge fan of the sport, I love reading RouteOne Daily to stay current on news across the European football landscape.

I never thought I'd find an email or website that would be able to do what RouteOne has done. It is superb, and it is the first email I look out for in my inbox every day. Keep up the great work!

You guys are awesome. You touch upon all key topics. I deleted social media, so I rely on this every day. I pride myself on my breadth of ball knowledge, and y'all keep me informed. Thank you.

I just want everyone who creates this to know how thankful I am to get this newsletter each day. I mostly get my football-related news from social media; I do not like using social media. It’s an awful place to be, in my opinion. So I am thankful to use this as an extra way to get and read the football news. I’m so grateful. This is the best newsletter out there, in my opinion.

I'm finding you guys to be a breath of fresh air. You're covering a lot of stuff that a lot of people don't hear about. I find a little hidden humour, and an awful lot of good info, without dissecting it with boring, useless opinions. I'm really quite impressed.

I love the fair way it covers every league and different issues that are part of the sport worldwide!

Bright, cheerful, interesting news. Particularly relevant for me as a global football author and fan.
